Hi, I'm Mrs. Shaffer and this is my second year teaching at Brookwood. I am so excited to get to know your wonderful children. I have been teaching a grand total of six years-- four of which were in 2nd grade, and two in 3rd. I am a proud graduate of both Florida State University and Augusta University. Go 'Noles!
My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and my master's degree is in Early Childhood Education. Since I have been in the classroom I have received my Gifted Endorsement and am currently working on earning my ESOL certification.
My life outside of school is very relaxed. I have a wonderful husband and two rambunctious boys-- an almost 7 year old and a 3 year old. I enjoy reading, crocheting, gardening, camping and all things sci-fi and fantasy. Marvel movies are my jam! Oh, and coffee. Can't forget coffee!
My classroom goal is to always have a place where students feel safe, included, supported, and most of all a place to find love and a sense of belonging. This will take shape in many forms--including dancing, singing, shout outs, and so much more.
