Hi! My name is Jennifer Smith. Welcome to 3rd Grade! I have been teaching for 25 years (24 here at Brookwood). I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Augusta University, and a degree in Interrelated Resource from Georgia Southern University. I also hold a Masters in Learning Disabilities, an endorsement in Gifted Education, and my Math Endorsement. Most importantly, I love teaching all my students!!! I am married to a wonderful husband, have 4 boys, 1 dog, and 2 cats. I love reading!!! We enjoy spending time together at our beach house!

My teaching philosophy is simple: Engage, Enrich and Inspire. I believe students learn best in a positive, motivating, safe, structured, and fun classroom designed just for them! As a teacher, I strive to engage students in their own learning process. It is important to focus on individual learning styles, strengths, and challenge beyond the comfort zone. We build relationships, and we celebrate each success. A strong connection between teacher and parent(s) further enriches the learning experience.
