Brookwood Elementary Clubs
The following list represents clubs and organizations that are offered in most Columbia County elementary schools. A brief description of the purpose or a mission statement of each has been provided. More information regarding these and other extracurricular opportunities, including the school sponsors and planned or past activities, can be obtained from each school. Parents or legal guardians who do not object to their child’s participation in school clubs or organizations are not required to take any action. Parents or legal guardians who object to student participation in one or more of these or any other school club or organization must indicate which group and sign and return this form to the school principal. For all student-initiated clubs or for any clubs or organizations added during the school year, parent permission will be obtained by the faculty supervisor. Any addition of a club or organization must be approved by the Columbia County Board of Education.

Art: To give students the opportunity to explore art through various mediums
Art Club meets on Tuesday from 7:25am - 8:0am. (Mrs. Sailors [email protected])
Chorus: To expose students to a wide variety of musical styles while emphasizing the development of musical skills and understanding
There are 2 levels of chorus. Tuesday or Thursday from 7:30am - 8:10am.

Drama: To promote collegiality among students interested in dramatic arts
Drama Club meets Wednesday mornings from 7:30am - 8:10am in the fall and Wednesday & Fridays in the spring. (Mrs. Chavous [email protected] )
4-H: To provide students with the opportunity to learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills
4-H will meet monthly in 5th grade classrooms. (Miss Arnold [email protected], Miss Cutler [email protected], Miss Herrity [email protected], and Mrs. Wilkinson [email protected] )
JR BETA: To promote scholarship, character, and service
JR BETA meets once a month on Tuesdays in the cafeteria. (Miss Arnold [email protected] and Miss Herrity [email protected])
News Show: To provide students an opportunity to participate in broadcasting school news
Students are nominated by classroom teachers. The show is broadcast each morning at 8:45am (Mrs. Pressley [email protected])
Running Club: To provide students an opportunity to exercise before school. Exercise is a great way to activate the mind and body for the school day.
4th and 5th graders may sign up to join. Running club will meet on Wednesdays from 7:25am -8 :05am. (Mr. Figgins [email protected])
Safety Patrol: To give leadership opportunities to students as they mentor younger students in safety procedures while at school
Safety Patrol locations and opportunities will vary according to need. (Mr. Figgins [email protected] )
Student Council: To provide students with the opportunity to contribute to school improvement efforts and to develop leadership skills
Student council representatives are elected by their homeroom classes for 4th and 5th grade. Representatives will meet monthly in Mrs. Tyler's classroom. (Mrs. Tyler [email protected] )
